Musician, organiser and curator Mélodie Melak lives and works in Berlin since 2009.
She has a degree in art with a focus on communication. In the last 15 years, she has contributed to several arts collectives and cultural organisations in the field of jazz, contemporary, improvised and experimental music. From Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2017, she was part of the collective running the venue ausland, a territory for experimental music, performance and art. From September 2019 to October 2020, she was the curator of the music program at ACUD MACHT NEU.
In her work, she likes to question the place and role of the performer in experimental art, and investigate the relationship between the individual voice and the shared melody, the pivot between solitude and community.
